Stream overview
The Food Science Stream of the Nutrition degree utilises the associations between diet and health outcomes to improve the safety and quality of foods and advocate for healthy choices. Australia is a major food producing country, and Nutritionists working in food industry have a critical role in optimising the food supply to enable the population to meet dietary guidelines. Students will undertake a work placement with an external organisation. Students are encouraged to apply for student membership with the Nutrition Society of Australia and the Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology. Graduates can apply for Association Nutritionist membership with the Nutrition Society of Australia and Graduate or Professional membership with the Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology.Detailed course structure and unit information
