    Overview

    Overview

    In this course you will develop expertise in national strategy, intelligence analysis and security studies.

    You’ll learn about the world of intelligence and its central role in national security decision-making, and gain the high-level critical-thinking skills required to be a professional analyst.

    Taught by academics with experience in senior-level intelligence analysis, this course will give you the knowledge for roles in intelligence that influence and support decisions related to Australia’s current and future safety and security.

    Curtin graduates mentored by our academics have embarked on careers in Australia and around the world, contributing to critical discussions on topics such as the AUKUS alliance, China’s expanding power, the Ukraine war and the emergence of global extremism.

    Upon completing this course, you will be eligible to apply for the Master of International Security.

    Admission criteria

    What you need in order to get into this course. There are different pathway options depending on your level of work and education experience.

    Applicants for a Graduate Certificate are required to meet University academic and English language entry standards; details are provided at http://study.curtin.edu.au/. Applicants generally require a Bachelor Degree or equivalent credit gained for recognised learning. Any specific course entry and completion requirements must also be met. All Curtin courses have compulsory and other core capabilities that are essential for demonstrating the achievement of course learning outcomes and graduation. Students who are unable to meet or demonstrate those requirements, now or in later stages during their studies, may seek reasonable adjustments by the University wherever possible to facilitate alternative ways of achieving those requirements. If reasonable adjustments cannot be accommodated, Curtin will discuss study options to find an alternative course of study or an exit degree.
