Curtin’s AccessAbility Services provides a range of support for students with disabilities, physical or mental health conditions, that affect their studies. Students who have a significant caring role for a person with a disability (relative or friend) are also eligible for support.

We have services available for on-campus, regional, and online students.

We recommend booking your appointment by calling 08 9266 7850 or Freecall 1800 651 878, as our reception staff will be able to book you in with real time availability.

Appointments can be face-to-face, over the phone, or over video chat. Please let us know in advance if you have any access requirements for your appointment (e.g. Auslan interpreter).

Service hours

Monday to Thursday: 8.30am to 4.30pm
Friday: 8.00am to 4.00pm
Please note: There may be a waiting period during our busy times of the year.

If you are looking to obtain a Curtin Access Plan, we encourage you to make the appointment prior to the start of the study period or as early in the study period as possible as they may be long appointment wait times when the study period is underway.

Curtin’s Disability Access and Inclusion Plan details our commitment to making education, employment and services accessible and inclusive for students, staff and visitors with disability.

Information disclosed to AccessAbility Services is confidential, in accordance with the Counselling and AccessAbility Services confidentiality statement. However, there are some limits to confidentiality, which are outlined in the policy. Your Curtin Access Plan may include some information about your disability or health condition if you are comfortable with this disclosure.

An AccessAbility advisor will be able to assist you to decide when it may be appropriate to disclose a disability and the best way to go about this. Learn more about disclosing a disability.
