Gender Research Network

The principal role of the Gender Research Network (GRN) is to share best practice, raise awareness and influence change in gender equity policy and practice at Curtin University.

We bring together researchers across the Curtin campuses working as gender researchers and on gender research related projects as well as those interested in learning about gender research. The GRN will have appropriate representation that includes (as far as is possible): gender diversity; cultural and background diversity; campus, school and discipline mix.

Baroness by Dr Marea Colombo

Baroness by Dr Marea Colombo

“What would you do if you became the richest woman in the world overnight?” Multi-award winning comedian Marea Colombo tells the tale of Angela Burdett-Coutts, the greatest Baroness you’ve never heard of.

Baroness is a critical examination of privilege and a demonstration of what becomes possible when access and inclusion are treated as baseline — not afterthought.

The sold-out show was hosted at Hayman Theatre and was a collaboration between the Gender Research Network and the Centre for Culture and Technology’s Digital Disabilities Research Network. We produced an Access and Inclusion wrap-up for the event. It is linked below with the Access and Inclusion Guide and the Social Story.

Connecting with the community

The Gender Research Network runs regular events, sharing current gender research being undertaken within Curtin University and externally. We are always looking for gender researchers to collaborate with. If you are interested in running a seminar or event through the GRN, or would like to request a recording of a previous seminar, please contact genderresearchnetwork@curtin.edu.au
