The project will investigate the manufacturing behaviour and engineering performance of renewable composite materials under industrially relevant processing environments. The research focuses on understanding how processing conditions influence material behaviour, structural integrity, manufacturability, and long-term engineering performance in next-generation sustainable composite systems.
Aim
To characterise transient thermo-mechanical processing environments on product functionality.
Objectives
Mathematically model and validate processing environments using laboratory level prototypes employing thermo-mechanical processing techniques.
Significance
Mechanical properties of materials are significantly affected due to processing environments in a significant way. This work will address sustainable manufacturing, advanced materials engineering, and low-emission processing of materials to develop innovative manufacturing technology.
Ideal Candidate
First Class graduates in a Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, or Mathematics, who have a high motivation for PhD. Additionally, the applicants should meet the eligibility criteria for entry into a PhD program at Curtin University.
This project is open to International and Domestic applicants.
Internship
Through this project you will also have an internship opportunity. The supervisory team will aim to organise suitable internship opportunity.
Scholarship
If you are identified as the preferred candidate for this project, you may be considered for an RTP scholarship.
