Event details

What does it take to lead sustainability research in a world that hasn’t always prioritised it?

Join Professor Michele John, Director of Curtin’s Sustainable Engineering Group (SEG), as she reflects on two decades of research impact helping to advance Australia’s sustainability transition.

Professor John’s research ranges from trailblazing work in industrial symbiosis – where the waste or byproducts from an industry become valuable resources for another – to more recent efforts focused on embedding sustainability values and ethics in education.

In this talk, Professor John will share what it takes to be a change agent in a system slow to shift, and why growing leadership, knowledge and commitment are essential to creating lasting impact.
