Curtin University of Technology has been awarded the prestigious Employer of Choice for Women (EOCFW) Citation for the ninth consecutive year.

Curtin is one of only five organisations in WA to be awarded this title this year.

The award highlights Curtin’s inclusive organisational culture proudly championed by its inaugural female Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jeanette Hacket.

Professor Hacket said the award was a wonderful endorsement of the University’s culture.

“To receive this acknowledgement for nine consecutive years is an extremely satisfying result and is testimony to our work environment,” she said.

“The current profile of female senior executives is significant and women are well represented across the University including the University’s Council, boards and committees.

“Programs such as the Advancing Women Strategy have also been developed to increase the number of women in senior roles and retain talented women at the University.

“Gender equity in salaries, an open and consultative management style, and a transparent equal opportunity and anti-discrimination policy gives Curtin the competitive edge in the employment market.”

The Federal Government’s EOWA Employer of Choice for Women Citation is awarded to organisations that demonstrate that they have policies and practices that support women across the organisation.
