From data to dialogue: Understanding and translating health research consumer workshop

Join us for an interactive two-part workshop designed to equip consumers and community members with practical tools to read, question and translate health research.

About the workshop

In part one, participants will learn how to critically appraise a health research paper – identifying key sections, understanding essential findings and recognising what makes a study credible and trustworthy. In part two, we’ll turn that knowledge into action. Participants will work together to draft a plain language summary of the paper, transforming complex scientific language into clear, accessible information tailored for a community audience.

This workshop is suitable for experienced consumers and community members, as well as those new to this space.

Workshop details

The workshop will be held in person on the Curtin Bentley campus. Participants are required to attend both days.

This is a FREE workshop and a light lunch will be provided on both days. No honorarium payment is offered for this workshop.
