The School of Design and the Built Environment (DBE) hosted the launch of the Transforming Urban Thinking: A Retrospective of Perth Urban Research Lab Projects.

The Perth Urban Research Lab (PURL) was established in 2021 to become a leading centre that transforms Perth into a global model for innovation, inclusivity, sustainability, and ecological stewardship.

PURL advances interdisciplinary, design-led research to address complex urban challenges. Through our commitment to social good, equity, and innovative pedagogic projects we engage with industry partners, academics, policymakers, and communities to generate actionable insights and creative solutions that inform urban policy, enhance the built environment, and foster inclusive, connected, and sustainable places.

The Exhibition showcases a range of academic and engagement projects delivered between 2022 and 2025 that support an innovative discourse around cities future using Perth as a case study.
