Building AI capability across the curriculum
AI has shaped, and will continue to shape, every profession our students are preparing to enter. Our responsibility is not simply to support students to use AI tools, but to help them work with AI capably, critically, and ethically, and to judge when it adds value and when it does not.
The AI curriculum capability guide offers educators a common foundation for making decisions about how to embed AI into curriculum, teaching, and assessment. Built around three dimensions drawn from the Curtin 2030 strategy – People, Planet, and Partnerships – the framework is intentionally broad, so academics across all disciplines and teaching contexts can adapt it to their own courses. It includes practical guidance on curriculum, learning, and assessment design from our A2030 Academic Champions, along with reflection questions to help you identify where AI capabilities already sit, or could sit, in what you teach.
