    Overview

    This Higher Education Certificate may lead students into the Bachelor of Health Sciences (B-HLTHSC) or Bachelor of Science (Health, Safety and Environment) (B-HLSFENV) programs at Curtin. This Higher Education Certificate may lead students into the Bachelor of Social Work (B-SCWK) program at Curtin, provided they meet the entry criteria for that course.

    • apply principles and concepts of rural and remote health management in a variety of contexts relevant to further learning and/or paraprofessional work
    • apply critical and creative thinking and problem solving skills relevant to rural and remote health management to generate innovative solutions to problems
    • use technology appropriately to communicate effectively with patients, carers and other health care professionals
    • consider global perspectives on rural and remote health management and international health management standards
    • demonstrate respect for Indigenous values, cultures and knowledges and consider Indigenous perspectives on rural and remote health management
    • work professionally in teams and independently, and demonstrate life-long learning skills
