About the centre

The Service will provide excellence in education and care to support the individual child, their family, and all staff to reach their full potential.
Mission
To provide authentic and real-life experiences in a creative and nurturing environment that celebrates and respects all cultures.
Excellence in Early Childhood Education
At the Curtin University Learning Centre, all staff hold qualifications in children’s services or education, bringing together a wealth of combined experience in the industry. This ensures a nurturing, knowledgeable, and professional environment for every child.
Unique Campus-Based Learning Opportunities
Being located on the university campus offers children supervised access to a rich array of facilities that enhance their learning and development. Highlights include:
- Library Visits – Encouraging early literacy and a love of reading.
- John Curtin Art Gallery – Children’s artwork is showcased annually in a dedicated exhibition.
- Outdoor Fitness and Play Areas – Promoting physical health and wellbeing.
- Interaction with Allied Health Students – Exposure to physiotherapy and occupational therapy students during their practical placements enriches the children’s experience.
Diverse and Inclusive Programs
We offer a variety of programs tailored to support holistic development, including:
- Intergenerational Programs – Fostering connections across age groups.
- Indigenous Cultural Programs – Celebrating and respecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
National Recognition for Quality
We are proud to be the first in the region to achieve an “Exceeding” rating in all seven Quality Areas as assessed by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA). This reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence in early childhood education and care.
As demand for the centre is high, priority is given to Curtin students and staff.
