The ELPA supports you in developing the academic skills you need for university study and helps ensure you receive the right support early on in your course.
As a commencing undergraduate or postgraduate student, you will complete the ELPA as part of your first written assessment in a designated ELPA unit. Your work is reviewed using the ELPA rubric, which focuses on academic language, structure and organisation of ideas, and the use of sources and referencing.
If your marker thinks you need additional support to develop these skills, you will be required to complete the SUCCESS program (for undergraduate students) or the Advanced SUCCESS program (for postgraduate students).
