The Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory (MRO) is located in the pristine radio-quiet of Western Australia’s Mid-West region, 315 km north-east of Geraldton. The Curtin Institute of Radio Astronomy (CIRA) is the only entity in Australia with a licence to conduct activity on the MRO, other than the site owner, CSIRO.
CIRA has access to more than 100 gbps of dedicated data transport capacity between the MRO and Curtin. CIRA conducts a number of radio astronomy instrumentation activities at the MRO that enable and support a variety of science outputs.
