What you’ll learn
In this course, you'll explore the importance of cinema history, screen theories, and how screen communication informs, entertains and engages audiences. You'll then apply this knowledge to your own screen productions in the realms of factual events and drama.
You'll use advanced facilities to develop technical skills in production and digital post-production – including virtual backgrounds and visual effects.
These include:
- Western Australia’s largest working television studio in a tertiary setting
- a suite of high-definition cameras
- sound recording, lighting and grips equipment
- editing, grading and audio post-production labs.
In your final year, you’ll write, direct or produce a major screen production to industry standard.

Screen Arts is offered as part of the Bachelor of Creative Arts.
You can also study Screen Arts as a second major in a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce double degree.
