COVID-19 Update: Curtin’s Perth campuses and venues are closed

All students should be aware of this afternoon’s announcement by the Premier of a three day snap lockdown of the Perth and Peel areas. Accordingly, staff, students and visitors must not attend Curtin’s metropolitan campuses and venues from midnight today (Friday 23 April) until midnight Monday 26 April.

Curtin’s Kalgoorlie campus will operate as usual.

These measures are being implemented by the Government due to a fast evolving situation in Western Australia, with two positive COVID-19 cases detected in the community during April.

Anyone in the Curtin community who has been in a high risk location identified by the Government, or develops symptoms, must be tested for COVID-19 and remain at home until they receive a health clearance and the lockdown has ended.

Curtin will continue to follow State Government directives through this period. It is the responsibility of each of us, individually and as members of the Curtin community, to follow the instructions from the State Government in an effort to keep us all safe.  Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the University and to the wellbeing of the WA community.

We will endeavour to continue to provide more information as quickly as possible, and will update Curtin’s COVID-19 website as information comes to hand.

I encourage you to prioritise you own health and wellbeing during this time.  If you feel you would like some additional support, Curtin’s Psychological and Counselling Services are available. Regularly updated information can be found on the State Government website.
