How do you land your dream job after graduating? 🎓💼
Curtin Mauritius Human Resources graduate and SD Worx Talent Acquisition Partner Sharun Bunwaree knows that finding a job is no easy feat.
With more than three years’ experience working in global HR companies, including Accenture and SD Worx, Sharun is passionate about relationships, meeting different people, and fostering lively and friendly workplaces.
Her fondest Curtin memory was studying in the library with friends while sharing ideas and enjoying copious cups of coffee.
“We live through the motto, ‘teamwork makes the dream work’. My friends and I always enjoyed sharing our ideas, critiquing each other’s points of view while enjoying a good cup of coffee.”
Here are Sharun’s top tips to help you land that dream job after university.
1. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 – internships will give you the corporate exposure that cannot be lived at school or university.
2. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 – not just through LinkedIn but also get involved in debates, roundtables, meeting people outside of uni. The more you put yourself out there and connect, the easier it can become for recruiters to spot you.
