Curtin Indigenous Capability Cooperative (CICC)

Investing in the education of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students is investing in the strength and vibrancy of our community.

The Curtin Indigenous Capability Cooperative is an initiative designed to empower Indigenous students in the Faculty of Business and Law, helping them unlock their potential and extend the benefits to their families and communities, and our collective social fabric.

This versatile fund will remove financial barriers for Indigenous students to access various education opportunities and resources. These could include laptops, study tours, participation in entrepreneurship programs, and much more.

Meet Amber – Supporting Indigenous Student Success

We’re excited to introduce Amber, an Indigenous Student Liaison in the Faculty of Business and Law. Amber plays a crucial role in supporting and advocating for our Indigenous students. As our eyes and ears on the ground, Amber connects directly with students to understand their needs and identify ways we can help them thrive. Through her close connection with Indigenous students, Amber helps shape initiatives that create real impact – from academic resources to cultural engagement and career opportunities. With your generosity, these programs can expand, and new, much needed initiatives can take flight, further enhancing student success.

Your investment, our future

Imagine a world where every Indigenous student thrived like Tyler has. You’re invited to be part of a collective approach to empowering Indigenous students.

Investing in the education of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students is investing in the strength and vibrancy of our community. We are passionately striving to equip students for success in university, their careers, and their lives. By nurturing their aspirations, we’re not only aiding individual students; we’re fostering a positive ripple effect that will benefit families, communities, and the future of Western Australia.

Together, we have the opportunity to amplify the voices and impact of our First Nations people, reinforcing the rich tapestry of our shared Australian story.

Join these influential organisations in the Curtin Indigenous Capability Cooperative, by establishing an Indigenous Scholarship, or donating to the Indigenous Student Experience Fund. Your leadership and participation matters.

Associate Professor Tuguy Esgin

As the Dean of the Indigenous Faculty of Business and Law at Curtin University at Curtin University, this initiative is deeply important to me and I believe it to be crucial for our community’s future. Our aim is to reshape the educational and professional landscapes, offering life-changing experiences to more Indigenous people. My own academic journey is a living testament to the transformative power of education. It was an experience that I passionately wish for as many Indigenous people as possible.

The layers of circles represent different years of your journey. With each year, you forge new connections, in new places, with new people and build on your knowledge.

Energy Connection was created by Curtin graduate Emma Garlett for the Faculty of Business and Law. Through her work with Garlett Group and her artwork, Emma is on a mission to change the narrative around Indigenous success and presentation. Energy Connection serves as the feature art for the Curtin Indigenous Capability Collective, a program that empowers Indigenous Business and Law students to reach their full potential, extending the benefits to their families and communities.
