Open to undergraduate students from all faculties, this 25-credit point unit that has been offered as both a study tour intensive and a fully online semester unit. It will next be available as an internal online unit in Semester 2 2026.

The Regional Road Trip
Open to undergraduate students from all faculties, the Regional Road Trip is a 25-credit elective unit called ‘Listening to Regions’ that takes students into the heart of regional/rural WA communities. Enrolments for 2026 are limited — expressions of interest are now open!

Go Local: Regional Study Experience Specialisation
Gain a deep theoretical and practical understanding of Regional WA by enrolling in the Regional Study Experience Specialisation. Each of the four units can be taken as individual electives or as a group to make up a course specialisation.

John Curtin Weekend
With close to 200 volunteers travelling to 15+ regional towns, John Curtin Weekend (JCW) is Curtin Volunteers!’ largest community project and takes place in September and October each year.

Listening to Country: First Nations’ Perspectives
Open to students from all faculties, the 25-credit elective unit Listening to Country is a unique opportunity to develop your intercultural capabilities through an immersive On-Country learning experience led by Elders and senior First Nations people in a Western Australian context.
