Perth protest this weekend

As has been widely publicised, there is a Black Lives Matter rally in Perth this weekend, following protests against racial inequality and police brutality around the country and, indeed, around the world.

Curtin has always had an open and inclusive ethos, welcoming people from all races and cultures.  We also have a long history of supporting reconciliation, Indigenous education and culture, and are very proud to be one of a small number of organisations with an Elevate level Reconciliation Action Plan.  We support the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are deeply committed to building a culture that respects and values all peoples regardless of race.

The health and wellbeing of our whole Curtin community is very important to us. If you are planning on attending this weekend’s rally, which is likely to result in a crowded environment, you are encouraged to observe physical distancing and other COVID-19 precautions to minimise the risks to your own health and the health of those you care for.
