Reading time: 1 minute.
Ever wanted to go to a campus event, but didn’t have anyone to go with? You’re not alone.
Step in solo, step out connected is a new initiative introducing solo-friendly experiences at Curtin, making it easier and more comfortable for students to attend events on their own, meet new people and feel part of the community.
Whether you’re new to Curtin, looking to expand your social circle or simply keen to try something different, these events are designed with solo attendees in mind.
That means:
- No need to bring a friend
- Plenty of other students will be attending on their own too
- Facilitators will be there to help break the ice
- Relaxed activities that make conversations feel easy
First up: Curtin Volunteers! at Pop-up Picnic
The first Step in solo, step out connected experience is launching in partnership with Curtin Volunteers! at Pop-up Picnic.
Join a relaxed outdoor volunteering activity alongside other students to create small items for a charitable cause. It’s an easy, low-pressure way to connect with others if you’re in the mood.
There’ll also be snacks, conversation starters and friendly facilitators to help everyone feel welcome.
Stay for at least 20 minutes and you’ll receive a free Guild coffee voucher. Plus, every time you attend, you’ll go into the draw to win prizes including cinema tickets, escape room vouchers and Perth Zoo tickets.
