NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each year to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Event details

Date: Sunday 4 July – Sunday 11 July

This year’s NAIDOC theme Heal Country!, calls for stronger measures to recognise, protect and maintain all aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage.

NAIDOC 2021 invites you to embrace First Nations’ cultural knowledge and understanding of Country as part of Australia’s national heritage. That the culture and values of Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islanders are respected equally to and the cultures and values of all Australians.

Each year NAIDOC Week grows in stature and depth of celebrations at community, state and national level. Due to COVID-19, Curtin University’s annual flag raising ceremony originally planned for 5 July has been cancelled,  though the special event will hope to still take place in the new future. There are still however, many ways you can Heal Country.

How can you get involved?
