Reading time: 2 minutes
If Curtin’s annual talent show, Talent For Tomorrow, has been sitting in the back of your mind lately, consider this your reminder to actually go for it.
Auditions are still open, but time is starting to tick down and if you haven’t looked into it yet, now’s probably the perfect time.
Whether you sing, dance, perform spoken word, play music, do comedy or have a talent that doesn’t fit neatly into a category, Talent For Tomorrow is all about students putting themselves out there and having a go.
And honestly, some of the best moments come from the people who almost didn’t audition at all.
You never know where it could lead
For some students, Talent For Tomorrow became way more than just one performance.
Past performers have:
- Started bands and creative projects
- Performed at Curtin graduation ceremonies
- Played gigs around Perth
- Met other creatives and collaborators
- Built confidence performing live
- Won cash prizes and invested back into their passions
You don’t need to have it all figured out
A lot of students think they need a perfect audition, professional setup or heaps of experience before applying.
You really don’t.
Your audition can literally be filmed on your phone.
The judges aren’t looking for perfection, they’re looking for personality, creativity, confidence and students willing to take a chance on themselves.
Different talents are encouraged. Different styles are encouraged. Being nervous is completely normal too.
The important part is actually submitting something.
There’s also a lot up for grabs
This year’s competition includes:
- $1,000 cash for first place
- The opportunity to perform at Curtin’s 2026 Graduation Ceremonies
- Runner-up and People’s Choice cash prizes
- A huge live audience cheering you on
But beyond the prizes, Talent For Tomorrow is also one of those university experiences you’ll probably remember long after semester ends.
Quick reminder before you audition:
- Your phone camera is completely fine
- Keep your audition clear and easy to watch
- Show personality and confidence
- Different acts are encouraged
- Don’t overthink it too much
Sometimes the best opportunities come from simply saying yes before you feel fully ready.
Auditions are open now
So if you’ve been waiting for a sign to finally put yourself out there, this is it. Applications close on Friday 24 July 2026.
Submit your audition for Talent For Tomorrow and show Curtin what you’ve got.
