If sport has been a big part of your year at Curtin, this is your chance to make sure the people putting in the work get recognised.
Nominations are now open for the 2026 Curtin Sport Awards, celebrating students, teams, clubs, coaches and volunteers who have made an impact through sport this year. That includes everything from high-performance athletes competing at state, national or international level, to the people leading clubs, coaching teams, volunteering behind the scenes and helping build Curtin’s sporting community. And yes, you can nominate someone else.
Who deserves a nomination?
Think about the people you’ve seen putting in the work this year.
Maybe it’s the teammate who keeps delivering when it matters. The coach who somehow gets everyone through the season. The volunteer who is always there before everyone arrives and after everyone leaves. Or maybe it’s a student athlete who has been representing Curtin at a seriously high level.
There are awards recognising:
- Curtin Sports Star of the Year, for students competing at the highest levels of their sport.
- University Blue and Half-Blue honours, recognising high-level sporting achievement and contribution to Curtin sport.
- Curtin Colours, for sustained contribution to Curtin sport over at least three academic years.
- John Curtin Sport Club of the Year and Curtin Sport Team of the Year, recognising clubs and teams for performance, participation and positive sporting culture.
- Service to Sport, recognising outstanding contribution from volunteers, administrators and others supporting Curtin sport.
- Coach of the Year and Curtin UniSport Athlete of the Year.
You don’t need to wait for someone else to notice
If you know someone who deserves recognition, put their name forward.
Nominations can be submitted by Curtin students, staff, affiliated clubs and members, State Sporting Associations, representative sport coordinators, coaches and Curtin representative team captains.
Just make sure your nomination includes clear evidence of how the nominee meets the relevant award criteria, as this is what the Awards Committee will use when considering finalists and winners.
Nominations close 30 November
You have until 11:59 pm on 30 November 2026 to submit a nomination.
So if someone from your team, club or sporting community has had a massive year, don’t assume someone else will nominate them.
