The New to Curtin Mentor Program is now recruiting mentors for Semester 2, 2026. This is your chance to support new students as they transition into university life, while building your own leadership, communication and mentoring skills along the way.
As a mentor, you’ll be matched with students in a similar area of study and play a key role in helping them settle into Curtin, make connections, and feel a sense of belonging from day one. The program runs across the semester, with the first five weeks being the most important, as you provide proactive guidance and support. You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in events and activities throughout the semester, creating meaningful experiences for both you and your mentees.

What you will need to do
- Support and communicate proactively with your mentees during the first five weeks of semester
- Be available to participate in mentor training and group interviews
- Take part in New to Curtin events where possible
- Be committed, approachable, and ready to make a difference
Key dates
- Applications close: Sunday 14 June
- Successful mentors notified by: Friday 26 June
- Group interviews: Tuesday 23 June
- Compulsory training: Tuesday 30 June
Who can apply?
Undergraduate and postgraduate students at the Bentley campus who have completed at least one semester or 100 credits by the end of Semester 1, 2026 are eligible to apply. You’ll need to be in good academic standing, willing to help others, and have strong communication skills.
