CV in Nungarin for JCW
Reading time: 2 minutes

Are you studying online or remotely while giving back to your local community? Curtin Volunteers! (CV!) has introduced a new initiative to recognise and celebrate the incredible contributions of students whose volunteering takes place outside of CV!’s partnered organisations.

We know that many regional and online students may not be able to access on-campus or metro-based CV! opportunities, but that doesn’t mean you’re not making a difference. Whether you’re supporting a local sporting club, helping at a community event, volunteering with your surf lifesaving club, or contributing online to a registered not-for-profit, your impact can now be formally recognised through CV!.

What Can Be Recognised?

If you’re enrolled in at least one online unit at Curtin and volunteering in your local area (or online), you may be eligible to log your hours with CV!.

To qualify, your volunteering must:

  • Be with a registered not-for-profit organisation
  • Take place within Australia
  • Be formal in nature (including an application process, briefing or training, insurance coverage, and a clear role description)
  • Be completed while enrolled in at least one online unit at Curtin

Important Guidelines

To ensure fair and accurate recognition, please note:

  • Only hours completed during the current semester can be logged
  • Travel time and breaks longer than 20 minutes cannot be included
  • Hours must be logged after each volunteering session (not submitted in bulk)
  • A timesheet must be uploaded for every submission
  • A supervisor’s contact details are required for verification
  • Falsifying hours may result in disciplinary action

This initiative ensures that all Curtin students, no matter where they’re located, can have their volunteering efforts acknowledged and celebrated.
