Bentley campus parking update

Reading time: 3 minutes.

We know that parking can be a challenge, especially at the start of the semester when demand is at its peak. It can be more difficult for some, particularly those who need to arrive later in the day, and we appreciate everyone’s patience as we navigate this peak period together.

With parking activity picking up at the start of Semester 2, we’re continuing to do what we can to help manage parking demand and support both staff and students.

To help, we’re asking everyone to plan ahead and consider alternative ways of getting to campus, particularly during those first few hectic weeks. Even small changes like carpooling with a friend or catching the bus can make a big difference.

Here are some options to help you beat the parking blues:

Public transport

Did you know that 11 bus routes service Curtin and the Curtin Central Bus Station? It’s a convenient, cost-effective way to get to class without the stress of searching for a bay.

We’ve also partnered with Horizons West to deliver Curtin Access Bus Service (CABS). This free, safe and convenient transport for students and staff travels has five routes servicing the campus, Technology Park and nearby suburbs including Waterford, Bentley, Victoria Park and South Perth.

Cycling & walking

Prefer to ride or walk? We’ve got you covered with bike hubs and end-of-trip facilities. It’s healthy, sustainable, and often faster than you think. Check out the available facilities on the Curtin Properties website.

Temporary parking options

To ease the pressure, the following measures are in place:

  • Temporary Car Parks (TCP1 & TCP2): located at the northern end of campus.
  • Technology Park: a good option on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (the busiest days) with FREE CABS buses running regularly to campus.

Parking trends you should know

Before you plan your commute to campus, get the inside scoop on our parking trends:

  • Weeks 1 to 3 are the busiest for parking, with high demand across campus.
  • Weeks 4 to 6 remain busy, though you might have a better chance of securing a bay.
  • Weeks 7 onwards are much quieter.
  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are the busiest days for parking.

Thank you to everyone who shared feedback – we’re listening and continuing to explore suggestions and improvements. This includes ongoing consultation to inform both short-term action and long-term planning.

At the same time, we think it’s important to let you know that in order to responsibly balance our development, financial and sustainability goals, building more multi-storey permanent parking is not an option at this time. Instead, we’re focused on managing access in a way that’s fair and balanced for our growing and diverse campus community.

Thank you again for your cooperation and support. Feedback can be provided at bentleycampusparking@curtin.edu.au.

Let’s work together to make getting to campus a little easier for everyone. Thanks for doing your part!
