Curtin University has featured in 35 of the 54 subjects ranked in the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2020, and has 23 subjects listed in Australia’s top 10.

Released by the Academic Ranking of World Universities’ publisher ShanghaiRanking Consultancy, the latest results show Curtin continues to be recognised globally for teaching and learning excellence.

Curtin Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry said the results were testament to Curtin’s world-class teaching and learning.

“I am delighted that Curtin has continued its strong performance with 5 subjects ranked in the world’s top 100 and 23 in Australia’s top 10. In particular, we are ranked 1st in Australia for Mathematics and 2nd for both Earth Sciences and Chemical Engineering,” Professor Terry said.

“These ranking results reflect Curtin’s standing as a high-impact research institution with strong practical application and industry connections.”

The Global Ranking of Academic Subjects measured the performance of more than 4,000 universities across 54 subjects spanning five fields, including engineering; life sciences; medical sciences; natural sciences; and social sciences.
