Our advanced biomedical sciences degree is the course for you if you’ve achieved an ATAR of 90 or higher, you studied Chemistry ATAR and Mathematics Methods or Specialist ATAR, and you’re considering career options in research or medicine.

This three-year course gives you practical, industry-relevant experience in labs and high-quality medical facilities. It allows you to branch out into the area of biomedical sciences that suits your strengths and career aspirations.

You’ll study foundation units in your first year, before choosing your major from Human Biomedicine, Molecular Genetics or Pharmacology.

You’ll complement your major with a second major from that list, or a specialisation from a range of disciplines, including non-medical fields like corporate governance or digital and social media.

This flexibility allows you to study towards the biomedical science career you’re passionate about.

Bachelor of Advanced Biomedical Sciences (Honours)

Imagine being part of the research team that makes groundbreaking advances against diseases like cancer, Alzheimer’s, inflammatory disorders or chronic heart conditions.

This four-year course gives you the opportunity to work alongside leading researchers utilising state-of-the-art equipment in advanced research facilities.

If you’re a motivated, high-performing student, this course provides a distinctive experience where you’ll develop your skills in research, industry engagement and global citizenship, all under the mentorship of experienced medical researchers and educators.

In your final year, you’ll complete a full-year research program within the laboratory of an approved university, research institute or industry research site.
