As part of National Volunteer Week (18 – 22 May), Curtin Volunteers! is running drop‑in micro‑volunteering sessions in the T.L Robertson Library.
These short, hands‑on activities are a great way to:
- Give volunteering a go without a big time commitment
- Learn a new skill
- Support local charities
- Meet other Curtin students
No registration is required, you can drop in for as little or as long as you like!
Monday 18 May | 1:00 to 3:00pm
Crochet granny squares for Wheelchairs for Kids

No‑sew blankets & fidget toys for charity
Make no‑sew fleece blankets for Shenton Park Dog Shelter to keep dogs cosy while they wait for their forever home, or create caterpillar/lizard fidget toys using beads and cord for Cahoots to sell and fund their work with disabled children.
Thursday 21 May | 12:00 to 2:00pm
Uthando Project crafts
Help prepare materials by cutting felt or fleece to create onesie dolls (cutting only), heart brooches or simple felt animals that are stitched, stuffed and donated through the Uthando Project.
Friday 22 May | 12:00 to 2:00pm
Preparing materials for Cystic Fibrosis WA
Help apply stickers and cut string in preparation for Cystic Fibrosis WA’s fundraising rose sale, supporting medical research and CFWA programs.
