Hi Kalgoorlie students! Mental Health Week runs every year in October to help raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and wellbeing.
This year, we are fortunate to have a range of activities on campus for you to engage with. Please come along to what you can or are interested in and take a break to reset before we enter the exam period.

Tuesday 7 October
Lawn games will be available on the campus lawns from 12pm to 2pm. Grab your student meal from the library for $9 and come and enjoy the sunshine!
Wednesday 8 October
Queen from Glow & Thrive Hub will be holding a Fatigue Management session in the WMC at 12:15pm. REGISTRATIONS ARE ESSENTIAL! PRES hours available. You will need to email me at kalgoorliewellbeing@curtin.edu.au to be able to attend this session.
Thursday 9 October
Come down to the Guild BBQ area for fresh doughnuts and coffee from Queen Bees 10:30am to 12:30pm.
Friday 10 October
Come down to 701.111 from 9am to 12pm or 1pm to 4pm to engage in some craft activities or to check out the Scanning Electron Microscope we are lucky enough to have on campus for a short time. You can view selected samples and your own items at up to 50,000x magnification. Join us in exploring the invisible world of the microscale!
You can also bring your own samples to view as long as:
- It will fit in a 3.5×3.5x2cm rectangular prism (about the size of a matchbox or 20c piece)
- It is not wet or dusty (they can’t have bits that will fly off when the SEM creates a vacuum)
- It can be secured, and they can’t be magnetic (things that would stick to a magnet are fine, things that exert their own magnetic field and could interfere with the field the SEM uses to focus electrons are not)
- Is not explosive
