Have questions about foreign risk, interference, or research integrity? The International Risk and Academic Security (IRAS) team is now hosting a weekly Foreign Risk Clinic, giving HDR students, supervisors, and staff the chance to get direct, face-to-face support.
Starting Thursday, 7 August, the clinic will run every Thursday from 10am to 2pm in the GRS Building (101), Level 1.
Come along to ask about:
- Referral and review processes
- Reporting incidents related to foreign interference
- Booking foreign risk awareness sessions
- Accessing helpful resources
- General questions about foreign risk
This service is especially valuable for HDR students, who may be more vulnerable to foreign interference due to:
- Low awareness of suspicious approaches
- Pressure to collaborate or accept incentives
- Personal financial stress
- Threats or coercion from foreign actors
- Lack of knowledge about disclosure requirements
- Focus on research outcomes at the expense of security
All Curtin employees are welcome to attend – whether you have a specific question or just want to understand more about safeguarding research and academic freedom.
Curtin is committed to protecting its people and research by raising awareness and promoting transparency. Together, we can strengthen our resilience in a changing global environment.
