Come hungry for lunch and big ideas!

Feed Your Mind is a lunchtime series dishing up bite-sized talks from Curtin researchers.

Dig in on the third Thursday of each month and get a taste of how our researchers are translating research into real-world benefits.

If you’re a postgrad or higher degree by research student, Feed Your Mind is a chance to learn, connect and be inspired… because sometimes the best conversations happen over lunch.

Light lunch is provided, so join us in person and start collecting stamps to go in the draw to win a $100 Guild gift card!

If you can’t make it in person, you can also join us online.

What does it take to lead sustainability research in a world that hasn’t always prioritised it? Join Professor Michele John, Director of Curtin’s Sustainable Engineering Group (SEG), as she reflects on two decades of research impact helping to advance Australia’s sustainability transition.

How do artists transform pain and trauma into art, and how can research help bring these stories to light? Join Professor Kit Messham-Muir as he shares the impact of the ‘Art of Peace’ exhibition, an outcome of an Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage project in partnership with the Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) and the National Trust of NSW.

How do you turn classroom interactions around alcohol into global policy? Join Associate Professor Nyanda McBride as she shares the journey behind the School Health and Alcohol Harm Reduction Project (SHAHRP) – a world–first school-based program that redefined alcohol education by shifting the focus from abstinence to harm minimisation.

Money Bites: Am I in it for the money?

Would you work harder if your pay depended on your performance? Ninety per cent of organisations use pay-for-performance schemes to boost motivation but many job seekers shy away from talking about money. Join Professor Marylene Gagne as she discusses the research behind compensation systems and serves up pros and cons of pay-for-performance, revealing how these schemes impact employee motivation, performance and well-being.
