Got a business idea you’ve developed to solve a real-world problem?
The Curtin PitchLab competition, hosted by Curtin Business School, is designed for high school students in Years 9–12 who want to take their ideas further. If you’ve created a strong business solution at school, this is your chance to compete against students your age and pitch for a major prize.
Prizes will be awarded to the top pitching team and the People’s Choice winner, so bring your best ideas and your strongest pitch.
How to Enter
All entries must either be submitted by a teacher on behalf of students, or teachers may provide the submission link to students to complete their entry during class.
To get started, teachers are required to complete an Expression of Interest (EOI). Once submitted, you will receive the official competition pack, which includes full competition details, guidelines, and submission requirements.
What teams are required to submit:
- An A3 poster, uploaded as a PDF file, that clearly showcases and communicates your business idea and how it makes tomorrow better.
- A 5-minute pitch video that clearly explains what your idea is, what problem it solves and how it makes tomorrow better.
What each participating student will gain:
Selected teams progressing to the competition will gain:
- Access to a free university-level unit: Introduction to Innovation Principles*
- The opportunity to connect with industry innovators
- A university-style tutorial experience
- Exclusive Curtin merchandise
- Multiple rounds of expert feedback to refine their idea
- Larger prizes will be awarded to winning teams only.
*This unit is delivered in an online microcredential format. Students must successfully complete all three microcredentials to be deemed as having completed the equivalent university unit.
