Students are invited to attend a short film festival and panel discussion recognising International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersex Discrimination and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) 2026.
IDAHOBIT marks the 1990 decision to remove homosexuality from the World Health Organisation’s Classification of Diseases. This year’s theme, “At the heart of democracy”, calls on all of us to stand against injustice and discrimination towards LGBTQIA+ communities, and highlights the importance of justice, inclusion and freedom for all.
This event provides an opportunity to engage with diverse LGBTQIA+ stories through film, followed by a panel discussion that explores the role of art and creativity in challenging inequity, amplifying voices and celebrating community. Attendees will be encouraged to reflect, learn and connect in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Whether you’re looking to deepen your understanding, show support, or connect with others, this event offers a meaningful way to recognise IDAHOBIT and engage with important conversations on inclusion and belonging.
