Curtin’s copyright licences

Curtin participates in three Statutory Licence agreements that cover the use of text and graphic works, radio and TV broadcast programs, and the use of music for learning and teaching purposes. These agreements are negotiated on our behalf by Universities Australia with the relevant copyright collecting societies (collecting societies represent specific groups of rights holders). By having these ‘blanket’ licences in place we do not need to seek individual permissions to re-use copyright material under certain conditions.

The University Copyright Procedures require staff to provide access to unit readings through the Library’s Reading Lists service. Reading Lists will ensure your readings are compliant with the Statutory Licence agreements and Library database agreements as described below. Reading Lists also allows you to include URL links to content online. Staff must not upload non-Curtin content directly to Blackboard.
