Over the last 15 years, ESG strategies and practices has been recognised as an essential tool of evaluating businesses across all sectors including corporations, private practice, NFPs and government sectors. Essential to a robust ESG strategy is the identification significant ESG issues important to stakeholders, the subsequent formulation of targets and outcomes to positively address these issues and finally, the reporting and disclosures on businesses advancement in meeting such targets and metrics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This masterclass series provides participants not only with the background to ESG and the regulatory frameworks which underpin it, but also strategies for ESG material risk identification, mitigation, measurement, and the reporting their ESG performance and outcomes in a meaningful way to stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Given ESG\u2019s pivotal role in sustainable operations, this masterclass series is focused on outlining the ESG risks and reward considerations during the energy transition to renewable technologies and decarbonisation operations with particular focus on the role of the circular economy in the successful energy transition to renewables. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The series provides practical step by step guidance to help participants develop their own decarbonisation strategies, specifically focusing on both the 1) technical knowledge and 2) critical skills around carbon emissions accounting, measurement and reporting (including Scope 1, 2 and most importantly, Scope 3 emissions).<\/p>\n\n\n<mimas-block \n        block-name=\"accordion\"\n        role=\"complementary\"\n        aria-label=\"Accordion content\"\n        data-segment=\"all\">\n\n                \n\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Learning-outcomes\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Learning-outcomes\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Learning-outcomes\">Learning outcomes<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Learning-outcomes\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p><strong>Carbon accounting, reporting and measurement (2 days)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understand the measurement, monitoring and reporting of carbon inventory levels and Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions as these apply to organisations<\/li>\n<li>Identify, quantify and account for greenhouse gas emissions in compliance with the international carbon accounting standards<\/li>\n<li>Implement suitable carbon reporting methodologies and related best practices<\/li>\n<li>Recognise the significant key challenges relating to Scope 3 emissions and consider solutions to mitigate these challenges<\/li>\n<li>Formulate practical and measurable targets for Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and credibly report performance to relevant stakeholders following best practice frameworks<\/li>\n<li>Collect data, calculate emissions, and apply carbon offset accounting techniques<\/li>\n<li>Develop an in-depth understanding of the regulations and standards in Australia (a world leader in this area) and internationally.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Scope three carbon emissions (1 day)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Regulatory requirements and background to Scope 3 full value chain: The road to net zero;<\/li>\n<li>Benefits of completing and managing Scope 3 GHG inventory;<\/li>\n<li>Identifying and categorising Scope 3 emissions, including determining relevant &#8220;material&#8221; Scope 3 categories;<\/li>\n<li>Collecting data, selecting a methodology (e.g., emission factors) and calculating emissions;<\/li>\n<li>Improving data quality across the supply chain and engaging with suppliers\/customers;<\/li>\n<li>Setting Scope 3 targets and reporting performance to stakeholders; and<\/li>\n<li>Implementing effective reduction measures and recognising the benefits from circularity strategies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Sustainability (2 days)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Appreciate the benefits of ESG and its rising prominence and importance to multiple stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Identify and assess ESG risks and establish ESG performance indicators and metrics<\/li>\n<li>Distinguish between the ESG regulatory frameworks, disclosures and compliance requirements<\/li>\n<li>Understand the importance of ESG data for decision-making<\/li>\n<li>Recognise the importance of the ESG auditing and assurance process<\/li>\n<li>Develop an understanding of the breath of environmental sustainability including carbon markets, carbon accounting, carbon offsets, renewable energy and the significant ESG risks therein<\/li>\n<li>Be aware of social sustainability issues relating to modern slavery in the supply chain, human trafficking, employee rights and the world views of First Nations people<\/li>\n<li>Recognise the leading role of governance sustainability in areas such as ethical leadership, governance structures, and best practices in sustainable business models<\/li>\n<li>Apply ESG considerations in investment decisions<\/li>\n<li>Formulate and implement an ESG risk management strategy and develop performance measurement and reporting tools.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ESG during the Energy Transition (1 day)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Appreciate the soaring demand but scarcity of energy supply<\/li>\n<li>Understand existing and emerging energy technologies<\/li>\n<li>Place Australia is in the global energy landscape<\/li>\n<li>Identify ESG risks and implement strategies to demonstrate positive ESG performance in the critical minerals supply chain<\/li>\n<li>Identify the role of ESG in building a circular economy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Who-is-this-program-for?\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Who-is-this-program-for?\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Who-is-this-program-for?\">Who is this program for?<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Who-is-this-program-for?\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>This 6-day program is designed for businesses facing organisational change in the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) sustainability area with a focus on ESG risks and performance during the imminent global energy transition.
