What are inherent requirements? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Inherent requirements are the essential skills, knowledge and behaviours you need to successfully complete your course and meet professional standards. These include working collaboratively with others and engaging respectfully with clients from diverse cultures and backgrounds, including sexual orientation, as well as supporting vulnerable individuals and groups in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also includes being able to communicate clearly, apply critical thinking, act professionally and meet any physical or practical demands of the course. You may encounter challenging situations, such as handling bodily fluids, providing frontline support to people with physical or mental trauma or caring for people who are dying or grieving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reasonable adjustments can be made to support you if you have accessibility needs or a health condition, but these adjustments must not change the core requirements or compromise professional standards. Clinical settings may have limited ability to provide adjustments due to patient safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each course has its own set of inherent requirements. If you find you cannot meet these, there are alternative courses you can explore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n \n
