These experiences are available to all Curtin University staff and students under Curtin\u2019s Indigenous Cultural Capabilities Framework, staff can register through iPerform located in Staff Portal. in person<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This experience is delivered by the Cultural Capability team, participants will be guided by Aboriginal educators to develop their own meaningful Acknowledgment and gain knowledge of Curtin\u2019s reconciliation journey at Curtin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Level 1 \u2013 Wanju Mia<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3-hour experience, on-campus, in person<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This experience is delivered by the Cultural Capability team, participants will gain knowledge of Curtin\u2019s reconciliation journey and an introduction to Nyungar knowledge and practices from a Whadjuk perspective, session is hosted at the yarning circle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Level 1 \u2013 Wanju Boorloo<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3-hour experience, off-campus, in person<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This experience is delivered by the Cultural Capability team, participants will gain knowledge of Curtin\u2019s reconciliation journey and the pre-and post-colonial history of Boorloo (Perth CBD) and Nyungar knowledge and practices from a Whadjuk perspective. Participants will be able to visit Curtin\u2019s city buildings at 137 and 139 St Georges Terrace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Level 1 \u2013 Ways of Working<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Full-day experience, in person<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This experience is delivered by the Centre for Aboriginal Studies staff, participants gain a cultural understanding of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and identity. This experience aims to increase knowledge and awareness of Indigenous peoples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contact <a href=\"mailto:wow@curtin.edu.au\">wow@curtin.edu.au<\/a> for enquiries.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Level 2 &#8211; On-Country Immersion Experiences<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Full-day experience, in person<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The on-country immersion experiences are delivered by the Cultural Capability team in a full-day learning program. In this learning experience on country participants visit many Aboriginal significant historic sites and hear stories from Indigenous Australians. Participants learn many Indigenous ways of knowing and doing that is explored in practical ways, building on the competency of understanding and interacting with Aboriginal peoples and societies. There are two location-based experiences offered which include costs associated transport and catering costs, it has a minimum of 16 participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pinjarra<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wadjemup (Rottnest Island)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Level 2 &#8211; Carrolup Story Workshop<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>1.5-hour experience, in person<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This experience is delivered in partnership with the John Curtin Gallery and the Cultural Capability team. During this experience, participants will learn about the Stolen Generation and its impacts through the story of the Aboriginal child artists of Carrolup, the experience is held at the John Curtin Gallery on the Curtin Perth campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Level 2 \u2013 Wogga Warniny (Blanket Exercise)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>3.5-hour experience, in person<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This experience is delivered by the Cultural Capability team, participants will gain an understanding of the early history between West Australian Aboriginal people and colonisers through this interactive, hands-on experience. This experience requires a minimum of 24 participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tailored workshops and education sessions <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>One hour to multiple days<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Work with our cultural educators to develop workshops or education sessions that meet the needs of your organisation.
