Create immersive experiences, learn techniques for 3D modelling and animation, develop compelling visuals and use game-related technologies.
This specialisation provides a theoretical and practical experience, aimed at developing the essential creative and practical abilities needed in animation and game design.
You will develop your skills and conceptual approach in areas that are critical to all forms of animation including textures for characters and objects, digital sculpting, and the application of motion (animation) to characters or objects.
You’ll also undertake critical analysis of existing games and explore the potential for game creation through the design and conceptualisation of your own games.
You will be introduced to 3D modelling, texturing and rendering in a digital environment and work on a multi-phase project on 3D design.
You will have the opportunity to work on a real-world brief supported by both an academic and a work-based supervisor. Importance is placed on the project design process in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment.
What's a specialisation?
A specialisation is a set of four units you can choose to complement your course. Most Curtin courses allow you to choose a specialisation from any academic area. Humanities specialisations, like this one, can give a useful balance to a course from business, law, science, engineering or health disciplines. Learn more
