This is a student-led initiative running in Semesters One and Two. Curtin students can participate as mentors, coordinators or as part of the leadership team. The program allows students to engage in meaningful activities beyond the classroom and professional placements, building confidence and practical understanding of educational environments.<\/p>\n<p>Participants complete self-directed experiences such as volunteering in schools, early learning centres, or educational organisations, supporting learning initiatives, assisting with co-curricular programs, or contributing to mentoring and community outreach projects. The program focuses on helping students deepen their understanding of their professional values, strengths, resilience, and commitment to the teaching profession.<\/p>\n<p>Participants engage in a blend of structured and self-directed professional learning opportunities, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Directed reading and online modules aligned to the Teacher Identity theme, encouraging reflective practice and personal growth.<\/li>\n<li>A full-day professional learning workshop, offering opportunities to connect with peers, engage with experienced educators, and explore the qualities that shape effective teachers.<\/li>\n<li>Self-determined learning activities chosen by the participant, such as external workshops, webinars, agency-led learning, or sessions from the School of Education\u2019s Professional Learning Hub.
