{"id":913,"date":"2021-11-02T11:25:27","date_gmt":"2021-11-02T03:25:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/?page_id=913"},"modified":"2026-01-19T12:11:53","modified_gmt":"2026-01-19T04:11:53","slug":"other-institutions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/examinations\/scheduling\/other-institutions\/","title":{"rendered":"Examinations for other institutions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Curtin University facilitates examinations for various Australian and overseas universities, colleges, institutions of further education and training, and other certified course providers who have students studying in Western Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most participating institutions are responsible for organising and paying for students to sit their examinations at Curtin. However, Curtin also provides a service for students who are responsible for organising the payment and scheduling of their own examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n<mimas-block \n        block-name=\"accordion\"\n        role=\"complementary\"\n        aria-label=\"Accordion content\"\n        data-segment=\"all\">\n\n                \n\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Scheduling-for-examinations\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Scheduling-for-examinations\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Scheduling-for-examinations\">Scheduling for examinations<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Scheduling-for-examinations\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>Curtin can arrange examinations on any working day excluding Western Australian Public Holidays and the University Christmas shutdown period. Examinations can be arranged for either of two daily sessions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Morning session<\/strong> &#8211; examinations commence at 9:00am<br \/>\nStudents must arrive at Curtin Connect Building 102 at Curtin Perth prior to 8:30am<\/li>\n<li><strong>Afternoon session<\/strong> &#8211; examinations commence at 2:00pm<br \/>\nStudents must arrive at Curtin Connect Building 102 at Curtin Perth prior to 1:30pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Institutions-organising-student's-examinations\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Institutions-organising-student's-examinations\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Institutions-organising-student's-examinations\">Institutions organising student&#8217;s examinations<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Institutions-organising-student's-examinations\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>Institutions who are organising examinations on behalf of their students must follow these terms and conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The institution must complete a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2021\/11\/EFOI_Facilitation-and-Invoice-Agreement.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facilitation and Invoice Agreement [.pdf 236kB]<\/a> for the current year. The agreements are valid from 1 January to 31 December only.<\/li>\n<li>Completed agreements must be submitted to Progression, Assessment and Awards<\/li>\n<li>The institution should forward a list of all students&#8217; full details including name and student number, examination title and code, scheduled date, time and length of the examination, and also specific reading times or special conditions of examinations or instructions to invigilators.<\/li>\n<li>It is the responsibility of the institution to ensure that all examination papers and relevant materials are sent to Curtin within a minimum of 48 hours of the scheduled date and time to allow timely facilitation of examinations. If examination papers and materials are not received within this time frame, Curtin reserves the right to cancel the exam.<\/li>\n<li>The institution should provide return envelopes or courier satchels for the return of the examinations. Curtin will return the completed scripts immediately following the examinations. If return envelopes are not provided a courier fee will be charged to the institution.<\/li>\n<li>Curtin does not provide a photocopying or scanning service for completed examination papers as part of the stipulated costs. If these services are required, a $10 fee will be charged per exam.<\/li>\n<li>Students who are unable to attend their examination must inform their institution immediately. Curtin should be advised by email from the institution of a student&#8217;s cancellation of their examination.<\/li>\n<li>Where 24 hours&#8217; notice is given for a student who will not be attending, there will be no charge for the examination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cost<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The following charges are effective from 1 January to 31 December 2026:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For examination duration of less than three hours &#8211; $296 per student sitting<\/li>\n<li>For examination duration of three hours or greater &#8211; $354 per student sitting<\/li>\n<li>For examination duration equal to or greater than four hours &#8211; $413 per student sitting.<\/li>\n<li>Institutions that require documents to be scanned &#8211; $10 per exam sitting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The above durations are inclusive of any reading time and includes GST.<\/p>\n<p>For additional information, contact Assessment, Progression and Awards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Payment<\/strong><br \/>\nCurtin will provide invoices at the conclusion of each month and payment is required within 30 days from the invoice issue date. Payment details are on the invoice.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Organising-your-own-examination\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Organising-your-own-examination\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Organising-your-own-examination\">Organising your own examination<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Organising-your-own-examination\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>If you are responsible for organising and making payment for your own examination, you will need to follow these terms and conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You must complete a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2021\/11\/EFOI_Request-for-Facilitation-of-Examinations.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Request for Facilitation of Examination [.pdf 269kB]<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Payment must be made no later than 5 working days prior to the examination date.<\/li>\n<li>If you are unable to attend your examination must contact Curtin at least 24 hours before the date of the examination. Where 24 hours&#8217; notice is provided, there will be no charge for the examination and any monies paid for that examination will be refunded.<\/li>\n<li>On the day of the examination, you must report to Curtin Connect Building 102 at Curtin Perth no later than half an hour prior to the start of your examination.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that your institution sends the examination paper and materials to Curtin a minimum of 48 hours prior to the scheduled date and time.<\/li>\n<li>If examination papers and materials are not received at least 48 hours prior, Curtin reserves the right to cancel the exam.<\/li>\n<li>Curtin does not provide a photocopying and scanning service for completed examination papers as part of the stipulated costs. Curtin Connect is located at Building 102 at Curtin Perth<\/p>\n<p>Students are required to meet inside Building 102 Curtin Connect and will be escorted to the examination venue by the examination invigilator. Refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/properties.curtin.edu.au\/maps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Curtin Perth map<\/a> for more details.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Public transport<\/strong><br \/>\nA bus service to Curtin operates from either Oat Street or Canning Bridge train stations, so students may catch the train to either station and then take a bus to the Curtin bus terminal on Hayman Road.<\/p>\n<p>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transperth.wa.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Transperth website<\/a> or call Transperth on <a href=\"tel:136213\">136213<\/a> for information on train times and bus routes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parking<\/strong><br \/>\nIt is recommended that you use the undercover visitor car park B13 accessible from Beazley Avenue as this is located closest to Building 102 where you are required to meet for your exam.
