All other examinations are considered school scheduled examinations. These will be managed by the relevant School, unless centrally scheduled by the Progressions,<br>Assessment and Awards Office. OUA examinations will be scheduled and supported by the Progression, Assessment and Awards Office in accordance with the OUA study periods.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students will make themselves available for scheduled examinations. Centrally scheduled examinations may occur on any day or evening during the examination period or other centrally scheduled assessment period, including weekends where required. Centrally and school-scheduled examinations will not be held during study weeks or tuition free weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your personalised draft and final timetables will be made available in <a href=\"https:\/\/oasis.curtin.edu.au\/\">OASIS<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Six weeks prior to the examination period a draft timetable will be published<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will have one week to provide feedback to your schools or faculty about the timetable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Four weeks prior to the examination period a final timetable will be published<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two weeks prior to the examination period your examination venue will be published (if you have a face to face exam).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exceptions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Exceptions may apply where alternative arrangements have been made under the following processes.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"accordions__container\"><div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Assessment-extension-and-deferred-exam-application\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Assessment-extension-and-deferred-exam-application\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Assessment-extension-and-deferred-exam-application\">Assessment extension and deferred exam application<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Assessment-extension-and-deferred-exam-application\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>Apply for deferred exam by following the <a href=https:\/\/students.connect.curtin.edu.au\/app\/assessment_extension>assessment extension<\/a>&nbsp;process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Your application must satisfactorily demonstrate that there are&nbsp;exceptional circumstances&nbsp;beyond your control that prevent you from completing the exam.<\/p>\n<p>Applications&nbsp;must&nbsp;be submitted PRIOR to your exam,&nbsp;but a late request may be accepted up to five working days after the exam date if you are able to provide a reasonable written explanation as to why the application was delayed, with suitable evidence where available.<\/p>\n<p>Assessment Extension request reasons and expectations for supporting documentation are provided in the table below. Additional documentation may be accepted at the discretion of the decision-maker. All supporting documentation will be submitted in English.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table border=1 cellpadding=1 cellspacing=1 style=width:500px;>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>Reason<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<p>Supporting Documentation<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>Student injury, illness or medical condition<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<p>A signed medical certificate or statement on relevant official letterhead from a Medical Practitioner or other approved health professional registered by the relevant National Medical Board. Official Statement on relevant official letterhead or email from Curtin email address from Curtin University\u2019s Psychological and Counselling Services, AccessAbility Services, outlining how circumstances have impacted the student\u2019s ability to submit the assessment item on the due date.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>Family issues (e.g. family injury, illness or bereavement)<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<p>Death Certificate, funeral notice or other similar formal document, such as a Police report or statement. Any form of supporting documentation accepted under the Student injury, illness or medical condition category listed above. Statutory declaration outlining the relationship to the impacted family member if this is not evident without clarification.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>Participation in Defence Force or Emergency Services<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<p>Emergency Services: Official Statement of support on official letterhead or from a relevant email address detailing the mandatory service requirements or participation in a recognised Emergency Services callout. Defence Force: Official Statement on relevant official letterhead or relevant email address detailing that the student is rendering Defence Service.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>Work commitments that student is required to attend at short notice; which are involuntary and unavoidable<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<p>Official Statement on company letterhead from the employer supporting claims of involuntary, unavoidable and unscheduled work commitments. For self-employed students, sufficient detail to adequately explain why work commitments are both unavoidable and unexpected will be provided.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>Elite Athlete sporting activity participation<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<p>Official Statement of support from the University\u2019s Elite Athlete Co-ordinator outlining how circumstances have impacted the student\u2019s ability to submit the assessment item on the due date.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>Obligatory Religious or Cultural Requirements<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<p>Official Statement of support from the student\u2019s religious or cultural leader, or the University\u2019s Multifaith Officer, outlining how obligatory religious or cultural requirements will or have impacted the student\u2019s ability to submit their assessment item on the due date.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>Further reasons including social and welfare<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<p>If other documentation to support the student\u2019s request (as per the above categories) is not available, an Official Statement of support from the University\u2019s Student Wellbeing Advisor outlining how circumstances have impacted the student\u2019s ability to submit the assessment item on the due date.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p>Documentation provided to support an Assessment Extension request will be directly applicable to the reasons provided, include the dates you were affected by the relevant circumstances, specifically support the extension time period requested by the student and avoid including material of a graphic or potentially disturbing nature.<\/p>\n<p>You will receive an&nbsp;<a href=https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/it\/studying-online\/email-occ\/ target=_blank>Official Communication<\/a>&nbsp;message detailing the outcome of your application.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Examination-arrangements-for-external-students\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Examination-arrangements-for-external-students\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Examination-arrangements-for-external-students\">Examination arrangements for external students<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Examination-arrangements-for-external-students\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>Based on your address in your eStudent account (place of residence), if you are externally enrolled and residing within 100 kilometres linear distance of a Curtin campus, you will have to sit your exam(s) at that campus, unless you have approved Curtin Access Plan (CAP) that states otherwise.<\/p>\n<p>If you are externally enrolled and residing more than 100 kilometres linear distance from a Curtin campus, then you will be advised to sit your exam(s) as an online invigilated exam using <a href=https:\/\/students.connect.curtin.edu.au\/app\/faq\/a_id\/4072>Respondus<\/a>. The university will contact you prior to final exam timetable publication to advise you of the details.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you are internally enrolled, travelling or at a location for short-term you are not eligible to sit an external exam and must sit your exam(s) at the campus of your enrolment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Further-Assessment-eligibility\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Further-Assessment-eligibility\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Further-Assessment-eligibility\">Further Assessment eligibility<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Further-Assessment-eligibility\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p style=margin-bottom:11px>\n<p style=margin-bottom:11px>\n<p style=margin-bottom:11px>A Further Assessment is an additional assessment task offered to eligible students by the Board of Examiners (BoE) provided they have met the required <a href=https:\/\/future.connect.curtin.edu.au\/app\/answers\/detail\/a_id\/3877 style= target=_blank>criteria<\/a>, giving the student a final opportunity to meet the learning outcomes of a unit. This task may be different from the original assessment.<\/p>\n<p>You cannot apply directly for a Further Assessment. They are granted on a case-by-case basis by the BoE and are only available in units that have been approved for Further Assessment. Check your unit outline to see if your unit is eligible.<\/p>\n<p>If the BoE determines that you are eligible, you will receive a notification through your Official Communications channel with instructions. You must be available to complete the assessment as scheduled.
