Your School manages all other examinations as <strong>school\u2011scheduled examinations<\/strong>, unless they are requested to be centrally scheduled by PAA. PAA also schedules and supports <strong>Open Universities Australia (OUA)<\/strong> examinations in line with OUA study periods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You must make yourself available for all scheduled examinations. Your application must clearly demonstrate <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1.8rem\">exceptional circumstances beyond your control<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1.8rem\"> that prevented you from completing the examination.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>You must submit your application <strong>before the scheduled examination<\/strong>. Late applications may be accepted up to <strong>five working days after<\/strong> the examination date where a reasonable written explanation and supporting evidence are provided.<\/p>\n<p>All supporting documentation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be submitted in English<\/li>\n<li>Must relate directly to the circumstances described<\/li>\n<li>Must clearly show the dates you were affected<\/li>\n<li>Must support the extension period requested<\/li>\n<li>Should not include graphic or potentially disturbing material<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will receive an <strong>Official Communication<\/strong> advising you of the outcome of your application.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Apply for a deferred examination by following the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/study\/help-support\/app\/answers\/detail\/a-id\/173\/how-can-i-apply-for-an-assessment-extension-or-deferred-exam\/\">assessment extension process<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Examination-Arrangements-for-External-Students\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Examination-Arrangements-for-External-Students\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Examination-Arrangements-for-External-Students\">Examination Arrangements for External Students<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Examination-Arrangements-for-External-Students\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p><span style=\"font-size: 1.8rem\">Your examination arrangements are determined by the <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1.8rem\">place of residence recorded in your eStudent account<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1.8rem\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are <strong>externally enrolled<\/strong> and live <strong>within 100 kilometres<\/strong> (linear distance) of a Curtin campus, you are required to sit your examination(s) at that campus, unless you have an approved <strong>Curtin Access Plan (CAP)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If you are externally enrolled and live <strong>more than 100 kilometres<\/strong> from a Curtin campus, you will be advised to sit your examination(s) as an <strong>online invigilated examination using Respondus<\/strong>. Further information will be provided before the final timetable is published.<\/li>\n<li>If you are <strong>internally enrolled<\/strong>, including where you are temporarily travelling or located away from campus, you are <strong>not eligible<\/strong> to sit examinations as an external candidate and must sit your examination(s) at your enrolled campus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Further-Assessment-eligibility\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Further-Assessment-eligibility\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Further-Assessment-eligibility\">Further Assessment eligibility<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Further-Assessment-eligibility\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p><span style=\"font-size: 1.8rem\">A <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1.8rem\">Further Assessment<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1.8rem\"> is an additional assessment task that may be offered by the <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1.8rem\">Board of Examiners<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1.8rem\"> if you meet the required criteria. It provides a final opportunity to demonstrate achievement of the unit learning outcomes and may differ from the original assessment.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>You cannot apply directly for a Further Assessment. These are granted on a <strong>case\u2011by\u2011case basis<\/strong> and only for units approved to offer one.
