{"id":8083,"date":"2021-11-19T12:47:41","date_gmt":"2021-11-19T04:47:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/student-essentials\/it\/guides\/estudent-help\/my-enrolment\/unit-enrolment\/"},"modified":"2024-06-19T09:35:32","modified_gmt":"2024-06-19T01:35:32","slug":"unit-enrolment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/it\/guides\/estudent\/my-enrolment\/unit-enrolment\/","title":{"rendered":"Unit enrolment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>You can enrol in unit from My Enrolment &gt; Enrol in Units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you enrol you need to agree to the terms and conditions of your course and meet any enrolment requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n<mimas-block \n        block-name=\"accordion\"\n        role=\"complementary\"\n        aria-label=\"Accordion content\"\n        data-segment=\"all\">\n\n                \n\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Terms-and-conditions\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Terms-and-conditions\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Terms-and-conditions\">Terms and conditions<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Terms-and-conditions\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>If you haven&#8217;t already accepted your terms and conditions, you will be prompted to do this before you enrol and your unit details will be hidden until you accept your terms and conditions.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>View the Terms &amp; Conditions\u00a0<\/strong>and review the specific terms and conditions related to your chosen course.<\/li>\n<li>If you agree to the terms and conditions, check\u00a0<strong>I accept these terms and conditions.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Submit.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n        \n<\/mimas-block>\n\n\n<p>The list of units shown is called your <strong>study plan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only units highlighted teal are available for enrolment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some units will allow you to choose an availability. The availability represents the year, study period, location and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/managing-your-course\/attendance-mode\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"6452\">attendance mode<\/a>\u00a0(for example 2019, Semester One, Bentley Campus, internal).<\/p>\n\n\n<mimas-block \n        block-name=\"accordion\"\n        role=\"complementary\"\n        aria-label=\"Accordion content\"\n        data-segment=\"all\">\n\n                \n\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Enrolling-in-units-on-your-study-plan\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Enrolling-in-units-on-your-study-plan\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Enrolling-in-units-on-your-study-plan\">Enrolling in units on your study plan<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Enrolling-in-units-on-your-study-plan\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>You can only enrol in units that appear on your study plan. Core units automatically appear on your study plan and you need to follow the instructions below to add optional units, electives and alternative core units.<\/p>\n<p>Core units are indicated by the C icon.<\/p>\n<p>To enrol in a unit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scroll to the unit you want to enrol in.<\/li>\n<li>Choose availability from the dropdown beneath the unit name. If only one options exists this will be automatically selected.<\/li>\n<li>Check the &#8216;Enrol?&#8217; checkbox on the right hand side of the unit.<\/li>\n<li>Repeat these steps for the other units you want to enrol in.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Proceed to Enrol<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>You will now be taken to a Confirm Enrolment Details screen where you can check your enrolment and then click\u00a0<strong>Enrol<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If you have been enrolled successfully, you will now see a green\u00a0success message confirming you have successfully enrolled. A green tick\u00a0will also appear next to your enrolled units.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Enrol in more units\u00a0<\/strong>to return to your study plan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is recommended that you view your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/it\/guides\/estudent\/my-enrolment\/\" rel=\"noopener\">current enrolment<\/a>\u00a0and email your enrolment advice for your records.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Adding-optional-units-to-your-study-plan\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Adding-optional-units-to-your-study-plan\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Adding-optional-units-to-your-study-plan\">Adding optional units to your study plan<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Adding-optional-units-to-your-study-plan\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>Optional units are indicated by an O icon\u00a0.<\/p>\n<p>To enrol in an optional unit you will need to add your chosen optional unit to your study plan.<\/p>\n<p>To add optional units:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scroll down to the Option line in your study plan (you may have more than one) and click\u00a0<strong>Choose<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>On the next screen click\u00a0<strong>Select Unit<\/strong>\u00a0next to the all units you would like to add. These will be added to your selected units list.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Save<\/strong>\u00a0to add your selected units to your study plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To change a unit on your study plan<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Change<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now that you have added your optional units to your study plan you can enrol by following the process for\u00a0<strong>enrolling in units on your study plan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Adding-elective-units-to-your-study-plan\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Adding-elective-units-to-your-study-plan\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Adding-elective-units-to-your-study-plan\">Adding elective units to your study plan<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Adding-elective-units-to-your-study-plan\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>To enrol in an elective unit you will need to add your chosen elective unit to your study plan.<\/p>\n<p>To add elective units:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scroll down to the Elective line in your study plan (you may have more than one) and click\u00a0<strong>Choose<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>On the next screen, search for the unit you wish to enrol in by entering the unit code or a key word into the search. Unit codes can be found in the Unit Handbook.\u00a0Click\u00a0<strong>Select Unit\u00a0<\/strong>to add the unit to your selected units list.<\/li>\n<li>Repeat this for any other units you need to add.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Save\u00a0<\/strong>to add your selected units it to your study plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To change a unit on your study plan<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Change<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now that you have added your elective units to your study plan you can enrol by following the process for\u00a0<strong>enrolling in units on your study plan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                    <div class=\"accordion\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-title-Adding-alternate-core-units-to-your-study-plan\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion__heading\" aria-controls=\"Adding-alternate-core-units-to-your-study-plan\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            <div class=\"title\" id=\"accordion-title-Adding-alternate-core-units-to-your-study-plan\">Adding alternate core units to your study plan<\/div>\n            <div class=\"icon\"><\/div>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\" id=\"Adding-alternate-core-units-to-your-study-plan\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n                    <p>Some core units have an alternate unit that you can choose. This means that while your study plan will already have a unit listed as a core unit, there will be a\u00a0<strong>Change<\/strong>\u00a0option that allows you to select the alternate unit.<\/p>\n<p>Alternate units are a special type of core unit, so while they have the C icon, they also have a\u00a0<strong>Change<\/strong>\u00a0option.<\/p>\n<p>To enrol in the alternate core unit, you need to add the alternate unit to your study plan.<\/p>\n<p>To add the alternate unit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Change<\/strong>\u00a0next to the core unit with the alternative unit option.<\/li>\n<li>On the next screen click\u00a0<strong>Select Unit<\/strong>\u00a0next to the unit you would like to add to your study plan. This will add the unit to your selected units list. You will only be able to choose from specific units.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Save<\/strong>\u00a0to add your selected unit to your study plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To change a unit on your study plan<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Change<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now that you have added your elective units to your study plan you can enrol by following the process for\u00a0<strong>enrolling in units on your study plan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n        \n                            \n                    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n        \n<\/mimas-block>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You can enrol in unit from My Enrolment &gt; Enrol in Units.
