Industry placement activities can include:<\/p><ul><li>Fieldwork<\/li><li>Internships<\/li><li>Placements<\/li><li>Vacation work<\/li><li>Serviced learning<\/li><li>Professional practice<\/li><li>Practicum<\/li><li>Regular employment<\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><\/div>                    <div  id=\"industry-placement-approvals\" class=\"card\" data-type=\"\" aria-label=\"industry-placement-approvals\"><div class=\"inner\"><div class=\"card__title\"><h3>Industry placement approvals<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"card__content\"><p>Industry placements attributed to your course or graduation (in-curricular) requirements must be approved by the WIL office before you commence your placement. These include:<\/p><ul><li>NPSC3001 \/ 6002 &#8211; STEM Professional Practice unit<\/li><li>Exposure to Engineering Practice (EPEP) Logbooks for Bachelor of Engineering (Hons), Master of Professional Engineering and Bachelor of Technology students<\/li><li>SURV4000 &#8211; Cadastral Surveying unit<\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><\/div>                    <div  id=\"request-processing-times\" class=\"card\" data-type=\"\" aria-label=\"request-processing-times\"><div class=\"inner\"><div class=\"card__title\"><h3>Request processing times<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"card__content\"><p>A standard processing time of up to <strong>10 business days<\/strong> applies to placement requests. <\/p><p>Requests will be processed in the order they are received. Students who miss the processing deadline and have not received approval for their industry placement(s) will need to delay their start date until a formal approval is provided by the WIL office.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>            <\/div>\n<\/mimas-block>\n\n\n\n<h2>Before you apply<\/h2>\n<p>Before you apply, please ensure:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You have been made a formal placement offer<\/li>\n<li>The placement must be undertaken within a safe environment<\/li>\n<li>Your industry supervisor is willing to complete the necessary performance review for your unit (see your unit outline) or EPEP Logbook requirements (see EPEP Logbook link below). The university may contact your supervisor during the placement for a progress update<\/li>\n<li>You have all the required documentation to attach to your application (see industry placement details below)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Industry placement requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All in-curricular industry placements<\/strong> must be approved by the WIL office via a placement request. All required documentation will be managed by the WIL office after you submit your placement request. Your host organisation will need to complete the agreement if one does not already exist. This allows us to cover your unpaid industry placement with insurance (Personal Accident and Public Liability). The agreement is managed by the WIL office and you will be included\/informed of the agreement status after it\u2019s been processed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fieldwork and WIL Risk Assessment<\/strong>. This must be completed by you in collaboration with your host organisation supervisor and will be approved by the WIL office.<\/li>\n<li><strong>WIL Approval<\/strong>. Granted upon successful review of your Fieldwork and WIL Risk Assessment.
