dates"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The census date is\u00a0the date at which your enrolment is considered final.\u00a0The date is set to\u00a0comply with legislation\u00a0and is published on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/academic-calendar\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/student-essentials\/academic-calendar\/\">academic calendar<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/students\/essentials\/managing-your-course\/withdrawal\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"6448\">withdrawal<\/a> made after the study period census date may incur:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An academic penalty (for example, a fail grade)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A financial penalty (for example, no refund of your student contribution or tuition fees).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Commonwealth supported places<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students&nbsp;enrolled&nbsp;in a Commonwealth supported place must&nbsp;submit an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/askcurtinfaq.custhelp.com\/app\/answers\/detail\/a_id\/727\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">electronic Commonwealth assistance form<\/a>&nbsp;(eCAF) for <a href=\"https:\/\/askcurtinfaq.custhelp.com\/app\/answers\/detail\/a_id\/495\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HECS-HELP<\/a>&nbsp;via OASIS&nbsp;before the census date&nbsp;and you must&nbsp;include&nbsp;your&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/askcurtinfaq.custhelp.com\/app\/answers\/detail\/a_id\/2344\">tax&nbsp;file&nbsp;number<\/a>&nbsp;or Certificate of Application for a&nbsp;tax&nbsp;file&nbsp;number if you wish to defer your tuition fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&nbsp;do&nbsp;not make full payment and&nbsp;do not&nbsp;submit&nbsp;a valid&nbsp;eCAF&nbsp;with your tax file number&nbsp;or Certificate of Application for a tax file number&nbsp;by the census date, the University is obliged&nbsp;to cancel your enrolment&nbsp;in accordance with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legislation.gov.au\/Series\/C2004A01234\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Higher Education Support Act 2003<\/em><\/a> (HESA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Census dates for research students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are undertaking a Masters or Doctoral thesis, the census dates are set by specific rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For&nbsp;students who enrol&nbsp;before the commencement of the research term,&nbsp;the census date is&nbsp;21 days after&nbsp;the&nbsp;research term&nbsp;payment due&nbsp;date&nbsp;which is specified on your eInvoice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For&nbsp;students who enrol&nbsp;after&nbsp;the commencement of the research term,&nbsp;the census date is&nbsp;21 days after the date of enrolment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Research terms are&nbsp;defined&nbsp;as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Research term 1 &#8211;&nbsp;1 January to&nbsp;30 June<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research term 2 &#8211;&nbsp;1 July&nbsp;to&nbsp;31&nbsp;December<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The census date is\u00a0the date at
