Young Minds: Our Future<\/em> is Australia\u2019s third national study looking at the mental health and wellbeing of children and teens aged 4 to 17.<\/p>\n

The survey will start in late 2025. Results will be shared in early 2027. Other researchers will be able to use the data once the project is finished<\/p>\n

How it works:<\/p>

Families will be invited from different areas across every State and Territory.
\nAround 6,500 parents will take part in a one-hour interview at home.
\nAbout 3,000 teens will be asked to complete a 45-minute online survey.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

What we’re asking about<\/h3><\/div>

The survey will explore many topics both positive and negative, that affect young people\u2019s mental health, including:
\n– Common mental health conditions
\n– Wellbeing and emotional challenges
\n– Self-harm and suicidal thoughts
\n– Bullying and eating issues
\n– Alcohol, drugs, and online habits
\n– Use of health services
\n– How mental health affects school and family life
\n– Positive experiences <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

YMM & YMOF<\/h3><\/div>

The data collected from Young Minds: Our Future will shed light on the challenges children and adolescents are currently experiencing. It will build upon the findings from Young Minds Matter, enriching the data already collected. <\/p>

YMOF aims to update prevalence data of the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div> <\/div>\n<\/mimas-block>\n\n\n\n
