Ninety per cent of organisations use pay-for-performance schemes to boost motivation but many job seekers shy away from talking about money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join Professor Marylene Gagne as she discusses the research behind compensation systems and serves up pros and cons of pay-for-performance, revealing how these schemes impact employee motivation, performance and well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Marylene Gagne<\/h2><\/div>

Maryl\u00e8ne Gagn\u00e9 is a John Curtin Distinguished Professor at the Future of Work Institute in the Faculty of Business and Law.<\/p>

The Institute promotes productive and meaningful work as essential foundations of a healthy economy and society. Maryl\u00e8ne\u2019s research examines how organisations, through their structures, cultures, rewards, tasks, and management, affect people\u2019s motivational orientations towards their work, including volunteer work, and how quality of motivation influences performance and well-being in the workplace.<\/p>

She is a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and of the Academy of Social Sciences Australia, and is associate editor for the Academy of Management Annals, Motivation Science, and Motivation and Emotion. She is also a member of the Australian Research Council\u2019s College of Experts.<\/p>

Besides being passionate about psychology, Maryl\u00e8ne also volunteers in an animal shelter.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>
