{"id":108021,"date":"2017-12-11T09:47:29","date_gmt":"2017-12-11T09:47:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/research\/?post_type=facilities&#038;p=108021"},"modified":"2021-08-09T05:54:53","modified_gmt":"2021-08-09T05:54:53","slug":"chiri-research-facilities","status":"publish","type":"facilities","link":"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/research\/facilities\/chiri-research-facilities\/","title":{"rendered":"Curtin Health Innovation Research Institute (CHIRI) facilities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.curtin.edu.au\/research\/healthsciences\/health-sciences-research\/research-institutes-centres\/curtin-health-innovation-research-institute\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Curtin Health Innovation Research Institute<\/a>&nbsp;(CHIRI) unites leading researchers across biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences and public health in a central location, creating a multidisciplinary research community. It is a multi-user research facility covering more than 1,500m<sup>2<\/sup>. The entire area is a certified Physical Containment Level 2 (PC2) facility with the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are 10 multi-purpose laboratory modules for general laboratory work and 25 smaller task and equipment-specific laboratories that are available for researchers to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CHIRI hosts five major areas of research equipment strength operating under a shared resource laboratory (SRL) model including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Microscopy and histology \u2013 confocal and fluorescent microscopes, Nuance camera and a histology suite for producing magnified visual or photographic images of small objects.
