The difference is that our books are people and reading is a conversation. The Human Library is a safe environment that is shaped by a framework of respect in which people are given permission to talk to a Human Book to ask questions and share experiences about topics that are often avoided or made silent. Using this strategy, the Human Library aims to break down barriers, encourage understanding and promote acceptance, respect and inclusion.

If you can answer yes to the following, then we would love to hear from you about becoming a Human Book.

Are you…

Open to talking about yourself and how you are different?

Willing to help people learn about identity, difference and diversity?

Confident to talk to a variety of people you don’t know?

Available for a three-hour training session.

To find out more and to apply, please contact Dr Greg Watson at gregory.watson@curtin.edu.au

You can read more about the Human Library online and on Facebook.

Curtin is hosting a Human Library during O-Week and we are looking for students to volunteer to be a Human Book to answer questions and share their experiences about topics that are often made silent.

[1
["post-6462","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorised
":null
"publishpress_future_workflow_manual_trigger":
["GET
